We had a great days racing yesterday with Shine Baby Shine winning in great style at Catterick and now has Cheltenham to look forward to in April. Eastview Boy also made a good effort in the Charity race held at the end of the card for his jockey raceday presenter Adele Mulrennan coming 2nd, with our other runner Zig Zag blowing up a little for his first run of the season turning for home under Serena Brotherton. Many thanks to owners Gary Capstick and Eddie Coates for providing their horses for the charity race.
Todays runners…
We have 5 runners today, with Mr Carbonator, Iconic Figure & True Ballew heading to Southwell AW, Tekiblue De l’Orme at Carlisle, and Man Of Verve at Newcastle for their night meeting on the AW.
Mr Carbonator is a twice course and distance winner at Southwell and with all our horses in top form, the slight drop back in class could just help. William Cox rode him for his last win here and rides him again today for owners Alan Fairhurst and the late Peter Sharp who sadly past away recently – we hope he can do him proud and send our deepest sympathy to his wife and family. Iconic Figure ran a great race first time out for 2nd here for us on Tuesday, showing huge improvement on his recent form in Ireland. Easy to expect further improvement here today ridden by William Cox again. True Ballew makes her flat debut today following her 3 bumper runs. She is flat bred by Equiano so will hopefully take to it well for owners The Jessies, also ridden by William Cox.
At Carlisle we have Tekiblue De l’Orme making his debut appearance since joining us from the Doncaster sales. Hopefully he will be another like Iconic Figure and benefit from his change of scenery and routine to find fresh enthusiasm, ridden by Tommy Dowson. Our last runner of the day is Man Of Verve running at Newcastle AW evening meeting. He is in good form at home and is wearing a hood for the first time for a hopefully more concentrated effort, ridden by Shane Gray for owners The Splash Of Verve Partnership. Best of luck to all runners, riders and owners, and most of all – come home safe.
We had this lovely email sent to us yesterday by one of our owners. Its really good to get such feedback when the days can be long and hard like they have been through the past weeks with all the snow….
