Friday 13th January

No runners on Friday the 13th for us! Adam must have felt it had come a day early yesterday when Episode clipped the top at Catterick and gave him no chance but both horse and rider were thankfully unhurt and Episode galloped a circuit of the track for a bit of a workout before stopping to be caught at the stable bend.

It was challenging weather for our team today  riding out -absolutely bitterly cold and blowing a gale as well – a little light dusting of snow and ice meant that Katie was seen gritting the yard before first lot this morning and everyone was well wrapped up.

Eastview Boy

Tomorrow we have four at Wetherby and our best chance of the day is

Eastview Boy schooling on Monday

likely to be last time out winner, Eastview Boy (3.25) who has done us proud with 2 wins to date and he just keeps pulling it out the bag. He took a while to warm up when he schooled the other day but thats just him and he was the same when he set off at Newcastle on his latest start – his jumping warmed to the task the further her went and he won nicely, the handicapper putting him up a sensible 4lbs for the effort. Its a competitive 11 runner race tomorrow , and not a novice chase. We could also  have done with a bit more rain for him but he is fit and ready to take his chance, Adam renews the Partnership.

Rocky Two looks fit and well

Rocky Two is proving more than frustrating for his Owner and the team at home but its the turn of Tommy Dowson to see if he can work some magic on him in the 2 mile handicap hurdle. Its not the most in form of races and if he put his best hoof forward he could definately make the frame as he does have the ability.

Nautical Nitwit is not well treated off 127 in the 2.50 but thats because he has won two competitive handicap hurdles for us in the last 8 months, so a confidence giving clear round is foremost in our minds tomorrow after being brought down at Cheltenham and falling here on his latest run on Boxing Day. If he is there fighting two out we are sure he will run his usual honest race in this seven runner race.

Northen Girl for Ownaracehorse & The Topspec P’ship makes her debut in a particularly hot looking 4

Northern Girl

year old 1m 6f fillies bumper to round off the card – there are a lot of flat breds in this race but our filly is purely NH bred and has he work cut out against some in form horses with experience. She is a nice filly with a good attitude  and goes well at home but Phil hasn’t been hard on her  and a decent experience is perhaps all we can hope for in a race that boasts Listed Cheltenham form.  Its a race we won in the past with Lady Buttons, and there were only 4 runners that day.Tommy takes off 5lbs which is sure to be useful.
