Friday at Ayr & Yard News

Phil and Tommy have now reached Ayr with Transient Bay and he is 2nd fav for the 4 runner 2m4f novices limited handicap chase at 4.30. There are only 3 other rivals but its a tight little handicap and its all about how fluently Stenna jumps today, as being so big he can be a little slow at organising himself. However, he’s a strong traveller and Sees out this trip so well on the ground that we are hopeful of another good performance from him this afternoon. Tommy is re-united with him following their Uttoxeter success  and several of his Owners have made the trip to watch him this afternoon – good luck to The Waking Ned Partnership and the newest Owner, Hugh Price who took the available place this week.

There are only 5 declared In Courtown Oscar’s race tomorrow but he is priced up as 4-1  and 4th in the betting, proving what a tricky race it looks. Tommy gets the leg up for the first time and we are running here rather than waiting for next weeks Midlands Grand National as we just cant risk not getting in again – it would be touch and go. A small field does suit Courtown Oscar and we would be going there with a strong chance – he looks in absolutely top shape and schooled well under Tommy yesterday. Our second runner will be the 4 year old Bertie Blake who ran green but with some promise at Wetherby first time out and we are expecting further improvement from this gorgeous looking son of Beneficial for his 20 strong ‘Kirby Club Partnership’. Theres a hot favourite in the race but plenty of unknown quantities too, and we are sure he will have come on for his debut.

I took these photos of our other Partnership horses, Wemyss Point & Northern Girl this morning while they were cooling off..they are both looking good and Wemyss will be out again shortly on some better ground.

I also took this photo of Whitchurch who won twice last flat season – we have a 25% share in him available and he is looking fit and well ahead of his turf campaign this year.
