Whitchurch wins at Catterick

Congratulations to the Turf n Surf Racing Partnership with a cosy win from Whitchurch under Harry Burns in the 5.30. Held up off a strong pace from Splash of Verve, he was always travelling nicely  and stayed on steadily to get his head in front where it mattered. Splash folded close home and was a little dissapointing but Keep Up ran a better race than of late and will be of more interest back up to 2 miles on a galloping track, he found this on the sharp side but had not been finishing his races and he did here. Whitchurch has taken some time to find his form, but since our new uphill gallop is in we have had 2 winners in less than a week, and we are back firing on all cylinders – he is a nice 4 year old who we can look forward to sending over hurdles as he  stays well. It didn’t take him long to be back in his box and having his tea – we are just a five minute drive to our most local track.

We have two runners tomorrow and Phil is heading to Worcester with Katy who will be leading up. They will both be big prices but are capable on their day – Perennial is yet to win over hurdles, but has been running well without just winning on the flat recentley. Good luck to their owners tomorrow.

Three horses have left us this week (Pass Muster, Agglestone Rock and Full

Speed)  – and all are settled well into their new homes and we have enjoyed having the photos sent to us! Aggie arrived in the early hours of this morning to Mel from Anglesey, and later this afternoon he was having a lovely walk in the sea next to his new friend – finding the right homes for our older boys when they have finished racing is a challenge but gives us great pleasure when we get results like this.
