New horse, Whitchurch with Ross Turner

New horse, Whitchurch with Ross Turner

Its on to Nottingham today with new horse, Whitchurch running in the Amateur Race with our own Ross Turner on board, we wish Ross and the new Owners of Whitchurch every success on their debut with him, he has a definite each way chance.

Both Cavalieri and Keep Up ran sound races last night at Wolverhampton, Cavalieri only beaten a length and a half but had to be content with 3rd place this time. The Wolverhampton surface is certainly seeing his form improve though and he enjoyed himself out in front for much of the race last night. Keep Up travelled better again and finished his race well but lacks a fifth gear and it looks as though he may need to be handier to get a first win. He certainly stayed the extra trip though and he will be a nice horse to go juvenile hurdling as he has a good attitude. New horse City Dreams ran as expected, and only Quadriga was a little dissapointing, he is not an easy horse to predict.

Ayr on Monday was something of an anti-climax with Woodpole Academy hitting the deck when still in front three from home. James had a spectacular fall but thankfully both he and Woodpole were unscathed, and at least we learned that he still has an engine as wasn’t going too badly when he fell.

Woodpole Academy at Ayr on Monday out in front…untił he capsized.

We are pleased to say that Splash of Verve will be coming back to Sharp Hill from Tatts sales as he has found some new Owners within the yard. That was decided this morning but Pass Muster and Nabateo have sales slots tomorrow. Phil also tells me he has declared Call it On for Newmarket but it would have to go soft for him to run.
