Its raining lightly at Castleton and it has done so at Kelso as well, we don’t want it too quick for either Rosie du Berlais or Embsay Crag up there – they both have sound chances in small but competitive fields. Embsay has the services of Adam Nicol claiming 5lb which should see a nice boost to his chance, the trip is right for him and he has been going nicely at home. Rosie du Berlais has been schooled by both Cathy Walton and James Reveley in the last ten days, both sessions have gone well and we are hoping to get a clear round here so we can see how good she is, her homework is always sound. winners in the race so she will need to be on her game round a track that isn’t the easiest, the fences are there to be jumped but there is a shortage of novice Hunter Chase opportunities at present.
Taxi des Obeaux looks up against it in the seller at Wetherby but he has some bumper form and isn’t a folorn hope by any means. Its a small field and he needs some vital hurdling experience after such a long time on the sidelines. Kyle James takes the ride and good luck to The Sharp Hill II Partnership.
We were so pleased with Pass Muster at Musselburgh and he has come out of the race well. Julie took the best Turned Out Prize with him and you can see why when you look at these pictures, he looks in mint condition.
We have had our share voting for owners to remain in the 6 year old novice hurdler (and bumper 1st and 2nd) ‘Factor Fifty’ – a half brother to prolific Irish chase winner & Arkle 2nd, Hill Society. We have ONE share available up to the end of April 2015 at a cost of £1436.00 . This is buying a 20th share plus all the cost of running him for the next year. NO EXTRAS. We don’t expect this share to remain available for long so please email as soon as possible if you would like it, preference will be for first come first served basis. ‘Frankie’ is a lovely young prospect, and very good looking individual, he ran third on his first and only start over hurdles at Hexham on unsuitably soft ground and Richie got off and said he was well up to wining a maiden or novice when the ground suited. He jumped well and it was a highly promising debut over hurdles. He clearly has tons of ability based on his Bumper form with a good win at Market Rasen last year, and this is a horse who can go on and be very decent. He has had no soundness issues and is a lovely kind character. He is now at Castleton for 2 months break and will be back out August and September to run in some late summer novice hurdles on better ground.
