Wednesdays news

Bedale Lane was an intended runner at Wetherby today – in the bumper – until she decided she wanted to be a jumper already and tried to take on the stable door at the track- a cut to her foreleg resulted and it was too much of a risk to let her run. Now back home with a bandage on , there will be other days for her, and hopefully soon!

Yesterdays horses ran well and new travelling head girl ‘Julie Heneghan’  who has joined us from Mark Johnston’s, had them looking ultra smart – here is a picture of Brunello and her in the paddock.

‘Bruno’ ran a good race for his Ownaracehorse shareholders – a keeping on fourth in decent novice company, and he is proving to look the hurdler we always thought he would be. Lets hope the handicapper gives him the chance to be competitive and he doesn’t get too strong a mark as he has been busy all Summer and autumn and deserves to get his head in front soon.

Adam gave him a positive ride and Bruno enjoyed being up with the pace  – a good experience for him. Adam also rode a winner on the card (sadly not for us!) but good to see!  Kyle James was on board Ancient Times and he stayed on a bit up the straight for an improved performance, both are in good order today.

New yearling filly ‘Esk Valley Lady’ (By Three Valleys)  is taking her bitting and lunging well at Dibble Bridge. This beautiful looking filly  is now owned by the Oakley Walls Partnership (local owners)  –  and they will be looking forward to her two year old debut all winter. She is a great mover and really flicks her toe at exercise, we like her a lot.

Yesterday was a schooling and work morning: Stenna, Full Speed, Jawaab, Gloshen, Pass Muster, Blondinthebar & Cleve Cottage all jumped nicely – several of them are due to run later this week.
