Joe & Lone Star
We have stable mates Lone Star and Ravenscar battling it out against each other in the 1.50 Lady Buttons Series Final today at Musselburgh. We think they are very closely matched with both being super tough progressive mares and both in hot form having won last time out. Ravenscar has come away from her win at Donny on 3rd March very well and Tommy will be undoubtedly giving it his all with a little in-house rivalry added to it!
Ravenscar & Tommy winning last time out at Donny
Lone Star proves her favouritism for the race as a handy course & distance winner at Musselburgh last time out on 1st March – clearly a top contender partnered with Joe Williamson who’s claim could be very handy today. There has been much friendly banter in the yard between Simon and Joe in the run up to todays race as Simon is Ravenscar’s usual pilot at home and Joe is rarely separated from his favourite mare. Although Lone Star is rightly the favourite, we find it hard to split them at home. It will be an exciting watch for us and we will obviously be very happy to see either one of them win it, especially with our connection to the race named in honour of our previous amazing stable star Lady Buttons herself. Best of luck to owners John Cornforth & Peter Rawcliffe (Lone Star) and James Hall (Ravenscar) for a top days racing and a safe return home for all.
