Winners under lights

We didn’t get the coveted Cheltenham winner, but we are still celebrating two winners over the past two days on the all-weather, BURROWS SEESIDE winning cosily at Southwell under Graham Lee on Tuesday, he has now been 1st, 2nd or 3rd on 13 of his 22 starts , what a consistent horse he is for his Owner Breeders.

Our winner yesterday was LEOPOLD’S ROCK and he got the better of stablemate AUTONOMY in a thrilling finish to the 1m 4f handicap.

Bought originally to go jumping, Leo’s found his niche now on the level, and seems to really enjoy his flat appearances. We would like to think he can go on and win again, and make up into a nice middle-distance horse for his Owners. Autonomy looks to be coming back to himself following a stint on the sidelines.

Skycutter had a frustrating appearance at Cheltenham on Tuesday but did run well. Held up off what is usually a serious pace, and you would have expected it to be so on good ground – this ended up being a steadily run tactical affair, and it paid to be on the front end. When you only have one shot all week, you feel it harder when things don’t go to plan, but the way he galloped up the hill and flew the last bodes very well for him for the future. He will have other big days judged on this. Indy had a good day off school and was excited to carry the saddle from the weighing room.
