Monday News

Lady Buttons in the sunshine

No runners today but a busy day nonetheless as we have a record number of horses riding out every day at Green Oaks. There’s also loads of work being done by Phil  on the Goffs & Tatts catalogues as the sales are all coming up thick & fast and we have orders for some nice young flat &  NH horses.

Goffs at Doncaster is 28th July (3 year old stores) & 29th July – Horses in training/ winter jumpers. It’s a sale that normally goes ahead in May so there’ll be plenty of vendors ready to sell and the horses will be well prepared. There is a good range of unbroken high class bred 3 year olds plus the usual mix of winning pointers,  handicappers and high class older horses that can take you to Cheltenham or Aintree.  It will be interesting to see how it’s managed with social distancing… Phil recently attended Tatts at Newmarket which he said was carefully done but still obviously a concern.

We are at Catterick tomorrow with Alsvinder and The Resdev Way and we need this drying wind to quicken the ground up, we had quite a bit of unwelcome rain over the weekend.  Both horses are in good shape and this will be Resdev’s first run for 137 days, it’s a mile and a half for him tomorrow.

The Resdev Way, ready to run tomorrow

We hope you enjoy the following videos and photos from the  last seven days. We had a welcome visit from ‘Tommo’ and Bob Champion on Saturday and they filmed ‘The Morning Line Reborn’ here at 8.30 am. To watch this 30 minute production you need to visit Facebook and search ‘Morning Line Reborn’ – it’s been so well received, many of our Owners and followers of the yard have really enjoyed watching it. It was an honour to have these two iconic racing figures choose our yard  to be their morning feature.

We had many thousands of views on our Facebook page for the lake video mid week when Foster cob mare ‘Norah Batty’ decided to wade in for a cool off and ‘Boris’ had to follow her! the others all watched enviously in the sunshine but weren’t brave enough to follow. It took the sensible cob to work it out….

Here is a mixed video of fiat horses, upcoming summer jumpers and our winter NH team starting their fitness work…

On the Partnership front we sold out in dual winner ‘Bertie Blake’ a couple of days ago And welcomed two new Owners to his partnership. There are a couple of shares in Wemyss Point but Phil is keen to make sure his wind op is successful before these are re-available. He’s a classy horse if we can get him spot on again, and everything is crossed for his Owners in The Green Oaks Partnership. With no future 5% partnership shares on offer its worth considering 10% ‘s in Shine Baby Shine or Mr Carbonator, both tough sound horses who will be ready to run within a month to  6 weeks.  We can also thoroughly recommend other Partnerships not run by us but who are long standing Owners with us who may have shares available – Hambleton Racing, Hope Eden Racing, Value Racing & Red Cap Racing 🐎

As seen on our ‘for sale’ page we will look at getting another jumping P’ship horse if we have enough interest, please register your interest by email with no obligation.

And he has been getting tips off the racehorses too…
