Weekend Winner

We are over the moon to end the week with a win from The Resdev Way at Redcar last night, hopefully this will start the ball rolling again after a quiet few weeks on the winners front although placed runners have continued to be consistent. He was our only runner of the night although he made it one to remember for jockey Paula Muir as she rode her first ever double having already partnered ‘The Armed Man’ to victory an hour earlier for Chris Fairhurst. In doing so she also rode out her 7lb claim…well done Paula! With all 5 of his wins so far coming on the all-weather it was a great moment for ourselves and his owners to see him transfer this form and gain his first win on the turf.

 Saturday saw another brave effort for 4th from the ever consistent Nautical Nitwit in Cartmel’s Crystal Cup. It’s a track which horses tend to love or hate and always reminds us of the now retired Goldan Jess and the many days of fun we had there with him. Now 14yo he’s enjoying a much quieter life after racing! Nitwit isn’t too far behind at 9yo but continues to give every race his best shot plugging on in the final furlongs to finish a few places better than expected. His last win came only in March running in two jumpers bumpers in two days, finishing 3rd in the first and winning the following day proving there is still plenty of life in the old boy yet and we hope he can get another under his belt this season.  Also on Saturday we had the 3yo ‘Campion’ running for The Castleton Bloodstock Racing Partnership. It was a step in the right direction also picking up 4th in an 8 field contest under Paddy Mathers and we hope she is able to continue progressing as the year goes on.

Nautical Nitwit

Today is another busy day for the team with 4 runners at 2 meetings. Iconic Figure and I’m Yer Man head to Ayr under James Sullivan followed this evening by Sincerely Resdev and New Britain over at Beverley under Paddy Aspell. We hope to see some more good results from today’s runners, good luck to all involved and wishing everyone a safe journey home.
