Friday at Doncaster

The 3 year Oscar filly lunging this morning

Simon with the Oscar filly

We’ve got a host of well bred jumpers for the future here – if you are looking for a store its well worth a visit! This Strong Oscar filly, a half sister to Identity Thief can be bought to stay on the yard for less than she would make at the sales and she has a great page as a future broodmare. She could be one of the Mares hurdle at Cheltenham – she is bred for the job.

This is Pickworth’s first offspring – now a 3 year old and entered at the DBS Store Sale in May. His dam won a bumper, 2 hurdles round Aintree and a chase – and he’s by Annie Power’s sire, Shirocco. He is a real athlete and moves on springs.

Un named 3 year old by Shirocco x Pickworth

This is another Shirocco out of Festival winner,  Gaspara but he is a Year younger – a 2 year old store bought by Castleton Bloodstock as a foal to sell on. He is a strong, deep bodied youngster and another superb mover.

Gaspara x Shirocco 2 year old

We have another Shirocco, a 2 year old out of Lady Chloe who has all the French Premiums – a really smart 2 year old who is being broken in now but will be kept to make his debut at 3. 50% of him is available and he is called Rococco.

The Yeats yearling now has a friend as he is a bit scared of our other yearling colts. He has teamed up with new Connemara pony yearling ‘Dougal’ and it was great to see them making friends this morning in the paddock.

The box has set off to Wetherby and we have two runners today, Little

Little Bruce, winner of 2 this season so far

Bruce and Suggestion.  Little Bruce takes on his older full brother, Bruce Almighty who Phil used to train. He is starting to look well handicapped wheras we may not have much in hand now after two wins this winter, but Bruce is looking well and Tommy rides him for the first time, taking off 5lbs. He won well here on Boxing Day. Remember, Little Bruce goes to the sales in May but we would love to keep him for a new Owner, he is tough, sound And genuine  and will jump a fence on the right tracks.

Suggestion is having his first run in a handicap and this is his last run of the year, he has been on the go a while now and was due to run at Carlisle last week before it was abandoned.
