Lady Buttons bids for back to back wins at Southwell tomorrow when she runs off 12 stone 2 carrying a 7lb penalty rather than the 10 or 11 she is likely going up once her new mark comes into play . It’s a high weight to carry but we have kept her in this grade and there is plenty of time to step up in class providing tomorrow goes to plan. Adam renews his partnership with her and there will be no one keener to get another win on her CV…its no secret that we hope she might one day add black type against her hurdles form to go with her bumper black type.

Wemyss Point also had a buck and a kick round there – he is entered for his second bumper at Musselburgh on Sunday for his newly formed Green Oaks Partnership. Bertie Blake for The Kirby Club Partnership is also entered up on Saturday at Wetherby for his bumper debut – and our third Partnership horse to be entered is Next Edition also at Musselburgh.
Cleve Cottage is fine following his brave attempt to make all from the front on heavy ground at Uttoxeter – he looked booked for 2nd place at the line but just got shaded to 4th , beaten less than 3 lengths by the winner. He jumped superbly and it showed there is a race in him yet. He was out in the paddock today to recuperate and may have a few more days off yet as it was gruelling race and he gave his all, we were proud of his effort, as was Adam who rode him.
From some potential winners to an 11 time winner – our fantastic veteran Goldan Jess went off to his new home yesterday with family friends, the Fletchers from Great Ayton. He is hopefully going to be a good boy and settle to a life of fun hacking with maybe the odd hunting day in years to come.
