York and Aintree – updated results

We had some good performances today without hitting the bullseye – Kiwayu finishing 3rd at York and Call it On 3rd at Aintree. Next Edition also ran a sound race at York but couldn’t quite make the frame. We are still on our way back home from Aintree, almost home, it’s 11.40 and we are pretty tired but couldn’t resist staying to hear Tom Jones singing after racing for half an hour, he sounded fantastic.

We did win two prizes today, Best Turned Out at both York and Aintree with Kiwayu and Cleve Cottage – a very pleasing double!

Earlier news….

Kiwayu

We certainly hope so – he is one of our three runners in the Apprentice handicap at York tomorrow, the last race on the card. In the same Ownership ‘Arabian Oasis’ also takes his chance and won’t mind any rain falling, nor will stable stalwart, Next Edition who bids to register his first win at York after three close seconds at the track in the past. Good luck to Keith & Jayne Sivills and The Dibble Bridge Partnership.

We also have two at Aintree tomorrow evening – and both

were winners over hurdles last time out, CLEVE COTTAGE for Dave and Mark Phillips, and CALL IT ON for The Green Oaks Partnership in the 6 o’clock. Both geldings have a sound chance in an open race and the track and ground should suit them. Lizzie Kelly takes the ride on Call it On and Tom Garner rides Cleve Cottage, both highly capable pilots in this conditional jockeys race over 3 miles.

Ullswater ran well today at Nottingham, only beaten bits into 6th for a blanket placed finish, but missed the break and made hard work for himself having to come from behind for Phill Dennis. It shouldn’t be too long before he is in the winners enclosure, and at least the handicapper is giving him a chance to be competitive of his recently revised mark.
