We have seven of Stenna’s Owners heading up to Ayr today as he bids for win number three over hurdles. With no further rain the ground may dry up to soft, and he ran well here last year so we are sure he will put in another sound performance. We will wait until next season now to go over fences so we don’t de-novice him at this late stage. Adam rides and he will be keen to add another to his tally – his best season to date.
Little Bruce made his debut at Carlisle yesterday and although he wasn’t involved in the finish, this was a pleasing debut and he jumped well. Phil took him hence the ‘au naturelle’ mane. We do like the attitude of these Yeats horses, they aren’t very big but they all seem to be natural jumpers.
Two barns at Green Oaks now have the EVA matting in the boxes and Phil is making a start bedding them up this afternoon once work is finished at Sharp Hill, as the shavings have now arrived. Barn three is almost complete of stables and today a large portion of the yard gets newly concreted.
