Its an exciting week ahead with Goldan Jess being entered in the Grade 2 ” WEST YORKSHIRE HURDLE  at Wetherby on Saturday  – who would ever have thought our little 11 year old would warrant an entry in this grade of race, but he continues to defy the handicapper and he’ll be making his fitness  count with regular pilot, Kyle James  in the saddle.

Kicking off the week is Woodpole Academy in the novice handicap chase at Ayr today, he has the assistance of James Reveley and its a hot little contest with some improving types. Woodpole has everything to prove after a 2014 season of setbacks and dissapointments but he still has ability, he needs to put it all together this afternoon to figure. We have always liked him.

Tomorrow its on to Wolverhampton, the races to be reviewed later, we have four runners declared: Quadriga, Keep Up, City Dreams and Cavalieri.

New horse, Nautical Nitwit with Julie

We were very pleased with this new horses performance last week at Southwell, running off 118 to come a fast finishing 3rd. he looks a bargain purchase from Ascot after winning a maiden hurdle in Ireland, a really likeable new addition to the yard.

We’ve got a host of entries this week as well as horses going to Tattersalls Horses in Training Sales on Thursday,  (Nabateo, Splash of Verve and Pass Muster) – its a huge catalogue and Phil has been sifting through it with orders in mind. Its going to be a sad day to see these horses go, particularly for Julie who has looked after Pass Muster since she arrived, one of the downsides of racing and loving the horses you care for day to day.

This is a photo of  newly back in training ‘Mac Tiernan’ with friend, Eastview Boy having some unwind time in the paddock… mac has been as keen as ever up the 3f canter, you wouldn’t know he has been away.

Our horses are certainly happy and relaxed….Aniknam doesn’t even bother to get up to eat his  breakfast!!

And stablemate Moscow Presents is up to his usual tounge sticking out habits, he will stay like this for half an hour very easily.
