Weekend Racing

A pat for Frankie at Huntingdon today

A pat for Frankie at Huntingdon today

We have had some solid runs again this weekend from Splash of Verve and Factor Fifty. Splash has to be held up so it didn’t suit that there wasn’t a lot of pace on, and he couldn’t just quicken in time. PJ  Macdonald gave him a lovely ride though, and it was great to see him not pick up his stick, as he said in his own words ‘ he was trying his best so there was no point’ . Splash was only beaten about 2 lengths into 3rd and he definately stayed the 1m 4f trip. He goes to Tattersalls sales next as part of his Pship agreement, and he will continue to win races on the flat or over hurdles wherever he goes.

It was jumping again today at Huntingdon, and we enjoyed a very enjoyable afternoon in glorious sunshine with about half of Frankie’s Topspec Partnership. There was a surprising gamble on him throughout the afternoon, but we were just pleased to see him finish his race well and we could have just done with an extra two furlongs, it happenned a little bit quickly for him but jumped well for Nathan and galloped all the way to the line and was only beaten a couple of lengths too.  Julie won Best Turned Out for producing Frankie immaculately in the paddock, and he was well received back into the winners enclosure by his Owners for a sound effort.
