The race was made famous with Victoria Pendleton making her race riding debut (well done to her for a top effort) but we were also delighted with the ride our stable Amateur Ross Turner gave to recent Wolverhampton winner ‘Bold Henmie’. Not panicking too early, Ross gradually made ground on the leading pair up the home straight and looked the winner until just being swallowed up in the last half furlong. It was an agonising final 50 yards, but another cracking good run from the recently purchased gelding and hopefully he wont go up much for this, remaining comeptitive for another try in the next few weeks. He seems a really honest horse who will also go over hurdles again, he has already had a run in Ireland over timber.
