We had two lots to the High Moor today at Middleham, we tend to box the horses up there as its a fair long hack, but its worth it when we get there as the gallop is superb and the two year olds had a good 4f breeze on grass. We also took Stormy Morning and Factor Fifty up there for a piece of work and both boys were feeling very well.
Stormy Morning received lots of attention yesterday as it was the Ownaracehorse open morning and he will now be busy chomping his way through his regular parcels of apples and carrots from two of his Owners , Betty and Janette Joyce who i know will be really looking forward to his first run back next month. We have had Stormy for four years now and he is a lovely character who is going really well at home.
Brian Twomey was giving his new grey horse, King’s Grey ( Christian) a canter today. He is a smart horse to have on the yard and Brian will be dreaming of a winning comeback on him.
Two runners tomorrow, Sakhee’s City has his first start on the flat at Thirsk for Keith and Jayne Sivills, he has been second in two bumpers and is bred to run on the flat.
Cavalieri makes his seasonal debut at Doncaster, its 1m 4f and he ran there this time last year before his win at Catterick.
Our daughter Izzy will have an exciting day tomorrow as she rides in the first ridden showing class at Royal Windsor Horse Show on her pony, Freddie.
little sister Indy had a big win last weekend qualifying for Hickstead at White Rose County Show. She is very competitive just like her Dad!
There was an exciting arrival at Castleton this week as the beautiful bow top caravan we have bought arrived safely. If you haven’t already read our ‘Glamping’ page do take a look. The fields are looking in great shape and the Bow Top is going over the river at the far side of this, our mares field pictured below. It is totally private and all you can hear is the birds, the odd whinney and the sound of the shallow River Esk!
