We saw two solid runs yesterday in the two bumper divisions at Catterick, Episode only beaten 2 and a neck in the finish, and Dibble Bridge 4th in decent company, right up there until the final two furlongs. They can’t all win and this was two promising performances from two nice young horses who will both make hurdlers. It was also good to see the now Mickey Hammond trained, Lowcarr Motion come a storming 3rd on his handicap debut over hurdles. He is Agglestone Rocks half brother whom we bought as a 3 year old, we also have his full sister here ready to come into training in the Autumn ( for sale) , another good looking bay, and his dam Royalty is here too, owned by Preessall Garage and in foal to their own stallion, Andorn.

Transient Bay at Sedgefield.
Today Phil is heading up to Ayr with Jessie Pinkman and Transient Bay, one of Stenna ‘s Owners, John Hanson going with him in the box. Stenna has been dissapointing this season and today tells us wether to keep persevering with him, he needs to show he is enjoying himself now he drops into handicap company, and he has cheekpieces on in an effort to sharpen him up. Stenna goes well at home and schooled yesterday under todays jockey, Adam Nicol. With Phil leading up I imagine we will see Jessie and Stenna going ‘au naturelle’ , he doesn’t do plaiting up!
Jessie Pinkman will find this ground more to his liking than the ground he was declared on yesterday at Catterick, and we feel he is a strong stayer so the more galloping track will be in his favour too. Good luck to his Owner, Malcolm Ward, and the Owners of Stenna in the Waking Ned Partnership.
