Wednesdays News

Phil is currently being held up on his way to work as it is snowing hard by Bedale, Castleton – for once – missed most of the snow last night although it was pretty bad over Middlesbrough way as i was caught in it. Today’s work with the horses  will be compromised if it doesn’t improve significantly, although with a quiet week and no further entries until next Tuesday it will not cause too much concern for us.

Yesterday our Musselburgh entries Call it On and Jessie Pinkman went up to the High Moor for a good piece of work, that should have put them spot on if racing is on – it is looking likely that the ground may be too soft for Episode who is also entered. There is also plenty of wintry showers forecast up north so the meeting may be in jeopardy. Call it On is having a precautionary entry at Leicester for next Tuesday, keen to get a run into him before the 3m3f Hunter Chase at Musselburgh early next month.

The Low Moor gallops have all now been re-surfaced and all is back to normal. This enables our yearlings to remain quietly cantering away and all is on target with them. We have had quite a few owners visiting the yard the last couple of days and enjoying watching their horses on the gallops.

Snowy photos later!
