Seasons Greetings…
but a bit of snow and sunshine and the horses just love it.
A record hike in the handicap (for us) was given to Pass Muster today – an 18lb rise for his 11 length success at Musselburgh, we had thought he might get 12lbs, so we felt this was very harsh. He holds entries with a 6lb penalty at Exeter and Sandown this week, although no decision has been made yet as to whether he reappears quickly, the bounce factor is always a concern and he had been off the course over 200 days.
Bloninthebar did not run today – a minor setback and all should be well again very soon.
I am thrilled tonight that the 12 Go Racing Partnership have kindly given me the beautiful grey, Word of Warning, and I am really looking forward to starting his showing career in 2014, he is a lovely character and has all the attributes to do well in this new venture. Updates to follow…
Two lovely young horses arrived yesterday from the Pitchall Stud (home of Passing Glance, sire of AVIDITY) – we look forward to bringing you news of them in the coming weeks, and also of the new Holy Roman Emporer yearling colt who is another for our two year old team in 2014. On Thursday we say goodbye to Money Team who has recently been gelded and goes on to pastures new, we wish him luck.
Tomorrow sees the winter reappearance of stable stalwart, Everaard at Catterick – a winner twice for us and five times previously for Kate, a real star. He is quite a lazy customer and Richie rides him very positively to keep him interested throughout a race, he is most often a from runner. Best of luck to his owners John Tennant, Chris Sharpe, Irvine Lynch, Kate Walton and Ken Boston – he is a Musselburgh specialist but recorded his only win away from that track at this venue, so it can be done!
The November Newsletter will be appearing in your inbox in the next few days and also on the private page. If anyone does not get it please email !!
