Celtic Agent gets March off to a great start with a highly impressive bumper victory at Southwell yesterday, Adam Nicol did the steering and having done most of his homework on him this must have been very satisfying. Many congratulations to Sue and Colin Johnson who bred him.
Adam has time for a leisurely look round as he is well clear and not out of second gear up the straight!
Can we further enhance the bumper record at Newcastle today with two in the last? This looks a competitive race for horses that have never ran under any code, and Ustica and Ardenlee Lad take their chance with Richie and Adam riding. Its sometimes not until you get to the track until you find out what real ability these horses have, there being no real substitute for race conditions, and it will be an interesting race with so many declared. Both our lads are big strong jumping types and they should handle the conditions fine, good luck to Nicky McGrath and Leanne Hannity the Owners, we hope you are both in the winners enclosure this afternoon.
We also have Brunello at Southwell , he has been consistent all winter without winning, lets hope today is his day in the winners spot, he has an obvious each way chance.
Tomorrow its on to Catterick and another bumper runner, Toola Boola, plus our first Hunter Chase runner since Simply Smashing, the Beneficial mare, Rosie du Berlais, she is pictured here this morning in the sunshine looking tremendous.
