No winners today but a run full of promise from Transient Bay on debut at Sedgefield. Watched by 16 of his 20 owners, he led all the way into the straight and kept on well once headed to be a good fourth, all the right ones with experience in front of him. ‘Stenna’ looked superb in the paddock, winning best turned out , as did our only other runner of the day, Embsay Crag, who just didn’t fire today, the ground looked very gluey and he didn’t look to be enjoying it.
We can be plenty hopeful that Stenna is going to make a nice staying hurdler and chaser following his performance, Phil has already been looking at bumpers to follow this up if he comes out of it well, and something like Hexham in a month or 6 weeks if the ground is soft would be perfect.
Tomorrow we are looking forward to Celtic Agent making his debut for us at Southwell- he was 3rd on his only start for David O Meara, and although he has had over a year off since this run, he has done plenty of work at home. He is a full brother to No Planning.
