Wetherby Winner- updated

Eve update, what a FANTASTIC win from Lady Buttons today in the last, Adam gave her a super cool ride  and she looked very classy, he didn’t  even have to move on her! I cant wait to watch the replay, well done to Owners Keith and Jayne Sivills who bred her, and have her two sisters to look forward to as well.  Thank goodness Phil decided to let her loose, she coped with the ground no bother at all and the Championship Mares Bumper at Aintree is her next target. It looks a realistic one after this performance.  The Racing Post analysis reads well:

This was a cakewalk for LADY BUTTONS, who never came off the bridle to win with a ton in hand.
She proved disappointing when upped in class at Cheltenham last time but is clearly much better than she was able to show that day, where conditions were horrible. Although getting weight from the runner-up, she looked good here and deserves a crack at something decent now, possibly Aintree.
Millicent Silver won a modest race at Warwick on debut but she found the concession of weight to her younger rival far too tough an ask. It´s still early days for her and she´s likely to want a stiffer test of stamina in time.
Presidential Lady was well beaten off and has looked pretty modest so far. [Gavin Beech]
QUOTES; Phil Kirby, trainer of Lady Buttons: She´s a proper filly, we will give her a little break and she will go to Aintree.

It was so nearly a double too, Mrs Eff looking all over the winner for Kyle but just getting caught in the last few strides, how annoying! However, this was an excellent first time chasing effort and hopefully her win number 4 will be just round the corner, what a good little mare she is.

Lady Buttons wins for Jayne Sivills at Wetherby

It promises to be dry  for our two runners at Wetherby – although both mares would appreciate faster ground and with two drying days it is going to be holding. They are both  course winners. Its never an easy decision as to whether to run or not and Phil has probably been running these races over in his head last night as

1/ the bumper looks the right race for Lady Buttons  with not a lot of strength in depth but she clearly would appreciate a better surface – and

2/ Mrs Eff also likes it quicker but its a similarly decent opportunity for her to get back to the form she showed last summer and she is ready to run.

This is how Sporting Life views the bumper:LADY BUTTONS made a successful debut over the 1m5f track here in December and attracted support when sent to Cheltenham for a Listed contest over 2m1f. She wasn’t up to that but this is more her class and compensation awaits. She gets an age allowance from Millicent Silver, who battled through the Warwick mud to gain a debut success and will undoubtedly have come on for the run. Holy Veil didn’t perform badly on the Polytrack at Lingfield but Presidential Lady has been well beaten in both starts. Alizee De Janeiro should be monitored for market support on her debut as she has a very nice pedigree and gets all the allowances.

This is Mrs Eff at the track last year – she is now Owned by Ingham Racing Services and we wish them all the best today  with this 3x winner. Kyle James is on board.

New horse ‘Herenowandwhy’  (Blackie) has settled in nicely at Sharp Hill. His 1/10th share has now been sold to one of our existing Owners and we are looking forward to a good summer with this consistent handicapper.

Arriving yesterday was ‘Rocky Two’ who has come for a change of scenerey and to see if he likes the hurdling game.
