What a day….we are all absolutely drenched. One to write off from a racing point of view but at least all the horses have come back safe and sound and we have had a nice afternoon with some good friends at Cheltenham keeping out of the worst of the weather, until the race at least.
Here is Phil and Adam with Lady Buttons trotting for the box , ready for off!!
Earlier News…..
We are on our way to Cheltenham and the rain is hammering on the windscreen , the ground looks sure to be testing today and may ease further.
We have been looking at Adam Nicol’s strike rate and he is 11 winners from 59 rides which gives him a 19 percent strike rate overall and s 23 percent win strike rate for us in the last 12 months. With his 5lb claim today and the fillies allowance Lady Buttons will receive, it gets her in this race with 10 stone, bottom weight- surely a help on a testing track. Both Adam and Phil are looking for their first Cheltenham winner, as are her Owners- lets hope its a day of firsts!
Woodpole Academy didnt fire yesterday in the heavy ground at Haydock. There will be other days to come for this nice young horse, who is a particularly good jumper. Runners coming up include Call it On, Jawaab, Burn’s Night, Pass Muster…… Its a shame this rain keeps coming as we have a lot of horses wanting better ground.
I took this photo of star filly Lady Heidi yesterday at Castleton, she is looking really well and filling out nicely. She is pictured here with Adam Forster who is leaving us this week, he is setting up his own yard with his partner and we wish them the best of luck in their new venture.
And here is Kim Morgan with Iktiview, he has enjoyed a couple of days exercising round the North Yorks Moors.
