Five lots were ridden out today at Middleham – and we have welcomed back Lauren Sissons the last couple of mornings who has been riding out for us on her break away from Reveleys! Today was also day 2 for our newest member of staff, Philip Dennis who has plenty of experience already riding on the flat and point to points, he is a good addition to our team at Sharp Hill.
Thursday sees a new member of staff starting at Dibble Bridge to work alongside Carl and Kim – Adam is very experienced and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the winter team at Dibble Bridge. Working part time continues to be Becky Dempsey who has fitted in straight away and has plenty of racing experience, Beth Phalp has also been working for us these last 2 weeks , we have about 16 in at Dibble to do roadwork or recuperation – as well as a full house at Sharp Hill!
Grey Command is recovering well from his stifle problem, he is pictured below left: he loves being back in and never has much haylage left next morning.
Phil was pleased with Platinum today, it was his last piece of work before his next race on Saturday at Haydock, Russ Kennemore rides him in the ‘Old Borough Cup’ a class 2 handicap over 1m 6f and his antepost price is 12-1.Its all very exciting.
One of our new boys ‘Enzaal’ is entered at York on Sunday, he is a nice 3 year old that was bought at DBS and came from just down the road at Mark Johnston’s yard. Also entered is Next Edition – Dibble Bridge P’ship Owners please check your email inbox later.
Thursday sees two 3 year olds making their hurdling debut’s at Sedgefield – Sakhee’s Romance and Joeluke: both have been extensively schooled the last 10 days, it wouldn’t do to send them under prepared.
Other handicap marks – Dr Irv was put up 6lb, Chloe’s Image up 3lbs, Sky Khan up 6lb, Goldan Jess up 7lbs, Triple Eight, Brunello and Embsay Crag all down just 1, How well that horse was named – Uptendowntwo – it always makes me smile., how right it is.
No winners today, even at our best track Musselburgh. Both horses are fine, and it was a run to forget from Brunello who possibly just didnt stay the 2 miles, he travelled with lots of enthusiasm but just didn’t see his race out when it mattered.
