Saturday news & catch up

Top Ville Ben heads to Aintree

Our highest rated chaser in training, Top Ville Ben heads to Aintree today for his first try over the National fences in The Becher Chase. Tommy rides & he schooled soundly earlier this week over our modified fences. He has a decent racing weight and the last time he ran here over the Mildmay course he was 3rd in the Grade 1 Maghull Novices Chase. Priority number 1 they get round safely and Ben shows aptitude for the fences & enjoys himself – if he takes to it then he will get a Grand National entry. Its a significant day for our Team and his Owners.

At the other end if the scale, a filly just starting her NH career & having her second bumper start, Mayway lines up in the fillies junior bumper at Wetherby to round off the card. Bred for the flat, it will be interesting to see if she can stay the 1m 4f as she certainly has ability. Joe Williamson rides her.

No winners Thursday or Friday but its not always about the winning and we have seen some really promising runs & some decent efforts. At Market Rasen ’ Tommaso ‘ was a good 3rd on his hurdling debut, Misscarlett ran a sound race on ground that softened more than ideal, and Zwicky showed a good cruising speed on his bumper debut, he will have learned a lot for the experience and looks a future chasing type with plenty of scope.

Today at Sedgfield we had ‘Adelphi Sprite’ a close third in the bumper, a really tight finish and on paper it looked a hot contest.

We also had GOWANLAD 2nd at Newcastle, another good run in a 14 runner handicap, his turn will surely come soon, and earlier on the card, RAIFF put in an improved performance for 3rd, although as the Racing Post analysis suggests he could likely have been 2nd but for the circumstances…

Soaring Star, although 5th was not beaten far in a blanket finish.
And finally our Christmas tree is up & we are looking forward to welcoming PKR Club members to the yard on Sunday.

The 3 Club fillies are looking well and we should see Martalindy & Happy Go Lottie out soon. This video really shows how different they all are.

Theres still time to join and come & see us on Sunday, tel 07711 709876
