Our upcoming morning at the yard

Its not just our human team that are looking forward to visitors!

Saturday July 3rd sees our FIRST open morning in almost 2 years at the yard…its for all our PKR Club Members, and if you haven’t joined but would like to attend there is still plenty of time – and also in time to be in the draw for badges for the first Club runner which is HAPPY GO LOTTIE on Friday at Doncaster. In this novice stakes for fillies we also see Frankel’s FULL SISTER entered as well as a homebred filly Owned by HM the Queen, quite a start for our filly but a nice galloping track to make a first appearance. Club Members can go in the draw for a pair of badges – each single Owner may bring a guest to our Open morning and also if you win a Owners Badge in the live draw. Those not successful in getting an owners Badge will be able to pre-purchase badges to the course this week but may have to be quick.

CLUB MORNINGORDER OF EVENTS

Club Members and their guest may begin arriving from around 8.45am, and proceedings will start on the yard at 10 am so please don’t be late and give yourself plenty of time to park in the field and walk up to the yard. Anyone requiring a disabled parking space at the top will be accommodated. Please don’t bring dogs – we don’t want any left in the cars please. There will be complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks plus cakes & biscuits on arrival. Everyone will receive a catalogue of events to include naming the horses inside, those being ridden, an order on the gallop as they come past you, all about our team, a plan of the fields and which horses you will see in them! Well have details of our merchandise available to buy and also how to enter our Ten to Follow Competition in October( and how the competition works! )

Everyone will be able to look around the yard and paddocks until 10 am when we will bring out the first of our two ridden lots that morning, and parade them first in the large paddock where everyone can stand around the fence, socially distanced, in groups of no more than 30! Phil will discuss them on a microphone before they head down to the bottom of the gallop while everyone walks round to stand along the main gallop for them coming past. Each lot will canter past twice. The second lot will include our Club filly Lottie in case of any latecomers! Our other club filly ‘Molly’ will be coming in for the day so everyone can see her. After the two lots are ridden everyone will come back up to the yard and you will be able to buy refreshments from a food van whilst our team prepare a number of horses to parade for everyone. These will include Club filly Molly, Lady Buttons, Stargazer & multiple winning stable stars Iconic Belle, Bushypark and Madeeh. We will also parade our new Partnership mare ‘Glamorous Icon’ for those who may be tempted by a 5% share! After the parade you will be able to see the horses in the barns (masks need to be on when inside) and chat to our team. Phil and myself will then be heading down the paddocks to show anyone who would like to walk around the farm our mares and foals, broodmares, youngstock and the older National Hunt horses out in the fields. You can do this in your leisure as we will be providing everyone with a map of the fields and walkways around them.

We ask that you please don’t feed the horses when here but you are VERY welcome to bring carrots If cutting up, cut them lengthways) , apples, mints, stable licks, salt licks and stable toys which we will make sure Molly and Lottie get in the stables. We recommend Horslyx original if anyone chooses to bring one of these licks.

See our yougsters in the paddocks at your leisure

Something to take home…

We have some lovely items currently being produced including scarves and metal racing badges from Druid Sport and Leisure, Polo shirts with our Club logo and name (Ladies, mens and Childs sizes) Canvasses, photos and framed prints by Megan Dent Photography, some gorgeously artistic mugs, key rings and fridge magnets by ‘Stitched Up in Eden’ and if I get my skates on, a select signed and numbered Limited Edition Print run of Lottie hopefully in time to purchase at the Open morning.

Any questions please ask! Enquiries to clubpkr@hotmail.com and Sue our Club Manager will be very glad to help. If you would like to read how our club works visits the PKR Club page in our menu.

Please bring sunshine!
