Grand National Day!

We haven’t got a National runner this year so we will be shouting this pair home as well as BURROWS SAINT bred by our Owners of Burrows Seeside 🍀🍀🍀It’s the big day at Aintree, but our Liverpool  runner ran yesterday and we saw an excellent 80-1  6th place for RED FORCE ONE under Joe Wiliamson in a hugely competitive 2m Conditional Jockeys handicap to round off the card. It was Joe’s first ride on the hallowed turf and he described  it to  Phil as ‘some buzz’ and ‘like riding on a carpet’. ‘Fred’ as he is known at home, belied his odds and stuck to his task gamely all the way to the line, his Owners backing him a place top 6 and top 10 so they had a fantastic time at the track. Let’s hope we are back there next year with a bigger team, it’s been a lucky track for us in the past. We also had High Moor Flyer for Colm McCormack at Sedgefield end she showed improvement from her first start to finish 6th and please Phil to pick up some prizemoney!

Fred at Aintree prepared by Katie at the track and ridden at home every day by Jodie – a great team effort 👏

Tomorrow we have Glory of Paris at Wolverhampton and four at Newcastle, Phil will have to be happy with the ground there – that it hasn’t dried up too much for some of our horses, the weather has been cold but exceptionally dry of late. Wye Aye would the the shortest priced of our quartet –  Newcastle will tell us if he can cope with going left handed, it will be a test for him as he has shown a tendency to go right but Phil thought it was worth trying once as there were no suitable right handed opportunities and he is ready to run. It’s a big galloping track so the right place to have a go. Our other three are McGarry, Master Newton & Two Thirty Yeat – best of luck to everyone involved.
