Wye Aye wins for the second time under Colm McCormack

It’s been an up and down two days. Colm gave Wye Aye The most beautiful ride at Huntingdon yesterday, sitting off the pace with this headstrong horse, and producing him after the last, to win going away. Colm rides Why Aye  every day at home, and has been instrumental in getting this horse to settle. He was an absolute runaway when he was first bought, and he still occasionally lengthens Colm’s arms on the gallop. This was a good win for The Well Oiled Partnership; we have enjoyed many winners in their well known navy & white silks & long may it continue.

Monday was a day that will last long in our memory for all the wrong reasons. Get Real was the most beautiful embryo chasing prospect, and rarely have we seen a horse take to fences as he was doing at Kelso under Tommy Dowson. Owned by The Vacuum Pouch company, Phil has minded Get Real while the ground has been so bad this winter, and he produced him to be ready on this better spring ground. We believed he would go on to great things and It was absolutely heartbreaking to see him fracture a leg a few strides before a fence down the back straight second time – there was nothing that could be done, we were just lucky that Tommy escaped serious injury. Get Real was looked after at home by his devoted groom Daniella Walker, and she will miss him dreadfully, as will we all. As well as being the perfect model of a chaser, he was kind & a gentleman through & through and horses like him do not come along too often.

Happier days

                                            ***

Today we had Midnight Legacy for Hambleton Racing at Haydock making her seasonal comeback, she found the ground a bit lively and Sean wisely pulled her up when she got tired.  Lucky Icon was a non runner after he wasn’t quite right this morning. There will be other days for him.

Our stats are going well and we are so proud of our team & horses, working so hard to achieve these results…

Our young team of jumpers are going well too and we have plenty to run now this ground is finally drying out.
