Bushypark & Tommy win in great style at Haydock on Saturday

Bushypark has come a long way since his first win on November 18th at Hexham and this was his 5th victory of the campaign – now into Class 2 Handicap company, this was a great effort. Racing off a mark of 120 he won by 8 1/2 lengths, making all and Tommy got some very fast jumps from him, he is quick over his hurdles for a novice. Soft  ground, preferably heavy, is the key to Bushy and if he makes the cut at Cheltenham in the Pertemps Final he will only take his chance if there is no ‘good’ in the description. What a superstar – he’s been a legend for us this season.

Bushy thoroughly enjoyed rolling in the mud the next day!

Apologies, I haven’t updated the news page here since Rayna ran at Sandown, ( although our Facebook is updated many times a day) and she ran an excellent race for 4th, only beaten 4 1/2 in total, staying on gamely all the way to the line in this Grade 2.

On Saturday we also saw a 3rd on the AW from Man of Verve over a trip arguably short of his best, but he took his chance and should be in the top spot soon off his mark. He remains ‘for sale’ and is a good fun well handicapped horse to own.

Today we have 3 runners….

Show Promise probably being our best value each way bet of the day despite Lucky Icon being the shorter price. ‘Show Promise’ has consistent placed form and if he takes to the larger Southwell hurdles for Ross we think he could be in the mix and is on a fair mark. Lucky Icon has been ‘unlucky’ this Winter with the ground but he needs an outing and we’d like to think he can be competitive off his mark, he just needs to take a step forward.

Some photos from the yard….another wet day today! But at least it has warmed up.

The Young boys enjoyed a new toy yesterday – ‘Donkey’ made his first ( and probably last! ) appearance in the barn.

Ready, steady, go….

In better days! Show Promise Owners in the paddock at Southwell, won’t it be lovely when we can go back to this!
