We’ve enjoyed a particularly good spell of it on the AW this winter and hopefully plenty more to come – we still have some well enough handicapped horses to run in that sphere in the coming months. It was great to see MADEEH win his 4th of the campaign on Thursday at Newcastle in the hands of talented apprentice Billy Garritty.
Madeeh has really found his niche on tapeta, although he does go on turf too and is likely to have a crack over hurdles at some point as well – he’s still an entire and there are no plans to geld him as he’s no bother at all. The only equines he seems to take a shine to are the ponies so we keep them well away! He is pictured her with his next door friend, Hidden Commander.
Last weekend we had ‘Glory of Paris’ winning at Southwell for Owned Alan Rodgers, and he’s back there again today to see if he can double up.
’Midge Mullen’ is in the plate again and he runs with a penalty but off bottom weight in this 1m handicap. It’s a typically competitive low grade heat.
Both ‘Little India’ & ‘Alsvinder’ have been knocking at the door with seconds lately, and they deserve to get their heads in front as they are proper triers.
It’s been one of the coldest weeks we can remember while living at Green Oaks – only tonight is the snow due to thaw, and it’s been very difficult getting the gallop and sand school harrowed enough to canter on – the tractor has been very busy.
We hope you enjoy this snowy video of some well known names & some unraced youngsters..
Phil has been contributing taking plenty to the beach during this cold snap and we have had some amazing photos from Megan Dent Photography and Phill & Marcus Andrews.
Its been a week where the legend ‘Lady Buttons’ left us to go to stud in Ireland – she is visiting Coolmore’s top NH stallion ‘Walk in the Park’ and we have everything crossed for a successful outcome. Her leaving video was very popular on fb …
And the next morning…
