The Sheriff at Donny…

Our runner for today is the talented Whoshotthesheriff in the 2.05 2 mile chase at Doncaster. There are some competitive looking rivals but he earns his place in such a line up and has every chance if bringing his best to the table as he’s in good heart at home and is looking a picture. We wish him luck with usual jockey Sean Quinlan in the plate for owners Hambleton Racing.

Sheriff on his way to his chase win at Carlisle in November.

We return to Donny tomorrow with another two promising chances in the shape of Rayna’s World and Sunset West, both having been very consistently impressive. Sunset West is an Irish point winner and joins handicap company for the first time following some solid novice form with the exception of an unfortunate fall second last time out when traveling strongly and looking to be in real contention for a win. We hope he fairs well with his mark of 117 with Joe Williamson being good value for his 7lbs taking the ride for owners The Vacuum Pouch Company. Rayna’s World has been nothing but a solidly good performer for us and she takes on the grade 2 Yorkshire Rose Mares hurdle tomorrow with Ross Chapman on board for Ace Bloodstock & Rayna Fitzgerald. Best of luck to all at Donny and come home safe.

Yesterday…. Little India ran a top race at Southwell, so very close but just missed out on 2nd in the final strides. Maybe doing a bit too much out in front early on taking that little bit too much out of her for the finish, but a great run none the less and she is heading in the right direction for sure.
