Christmas eve!!! *Picture Updates!*

We have had snow in North Yorkshire this morning making it feel Christmassy, but its the really wet variety, and the sun is shining now so its transformed itself into huge wet puddles! Its been great to see that despite all the misery of the past year with covid-19 and all that came with it, the staff have been getting into the spirit of the season today and many are donning their Christmas jumpers and wearing tinsel – even some of the horses havent escaped!

A great shot by Meg of this mornings snow.
Sam & Will have definitely won the best outfits for the day, complete with garlands of lights!! Top Efforts!!!

We have had some good runs over the past week to recap…. Adelphi Prince coming a good 3rd at Sedgefield on Tuesday, Little India improving well for a promising 2nd on Sunday at Southwell along with another 2nd for the ever consistent trier Mr Carbonator. Rayna’s World went to Haydock on Saturday for the hotly contested Listed mares hurdle, an impressive 2nd – pulling clear 16 lengths of the 3rd. She gets all her 10 To Follow lists an added 4 bonus points for 2nd in Listed company – we are delighted to see our points competition creating such great interest, we are enjoying reading all your Facebook page comments, celebration of points…and the frustration of those of you with less than successful picks! Its all for charity remember, Children with Cancer. We hope to bring you a leader board update soon.

Top Cat.

We are amazed with the response to our Philip Kirby Racing Club with ‘Top Cat’ and hope those of you who made the cut for the first 100 have now received your welcome packs in time for Christmas. Sue who has had the task of turning them all out in super-fast time has at last count answered well over 500 emails. Those of you who havent had a reply yet, please be patient, we will get to you soon and your pack will be coming in the New Year.

Christmas Past….We had a great Boxing Day to remember from last year at Wetherby with Top Ville Ben winning the Rowland Meyrick in fine style under Tommy Dowson, making it a double on the day for us after earlier winning the novice hurdle with Theflickeringlight.

We have 7 for this Boxing Day, 6 at Wetherby and 1 at Wolves. A great mix of seasoned jumpers and novices’ this year. Fingers crossed for a winner or two in there and mostly wishing them a safe return home as we always do.

Boxing Day Runners :

It was great to see Hollie Doyle in the line up for this years Sports Personality Of The Year. Well done to her – 3rd was no disgrace and she is a fantastic ambassador for our sport with this award coverage bringing racing to the wider public too.

Sexy Beast

Our newly launched ‘The Good Looking Partnership’ horse ‘Sexy Beast’ is enjoying his early introduction back into work and will be christened with his new stable name voted for by his owners on Boxing Day……and no Phil, no it ISNT going to be Phil!

We’d like to finish with a HUGE thank you to all the owners who have so kindly gifted so much food, cake, sweets and whatever else for Christmas. It really does put a smile on the teams face to see that appreciation for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and at the races all year. THANK YOU!!!
