Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Friday 18th Dec…

We have 3 runners today – 2 at Southwell this afternoon and the other at Wolverhampton’s evening meeting, all fair ew chances. First up is Red Dragoness (above) who will be joining selling company for the first time off a nice weight with Rowan Scott in the plate for Owners Roofing Consultants Group. Its also her debut on the fibersand so we are hoping conditions suit for her to take a step forward today.

Shine Baby Shine winning last time out at Southwell.

Shine Baby Shine returns to Southwell following her great win here last week, hotly persued by stable mate Lady Camelot for 2nd! Ridden by Luke Morris, she carries a penalty for her efforts last week but has remained in good heart at home so we’re hoping for another top performance today for her enthusiastic syndicate headed by David Gray. Later tonight at 8:15 we have Imajorblush returning to Wolverhampton for another go at 1mile6 where she can hopefully improve on her 4th here at the end of November. Tom Eaves takes the ride for owners Zoe, George Hassall & family. Best of luck to all runners, riders and connections for a good days racing and safe return home.

Introducing PKR’s first Racing Club!

We are launching ‘The Philip Kirby Racing Club’ in time for Christmas 🎄It will make would be an excellent present for yourself or a loved one and we are sending welcome packs in time for Christmas. We have an unraced 3 year old NH filly in mind which Phil & I may retain for future breeding purposes. We would be free leasing her to the Club and she is being aimed at a Spring bumper start and you will be brought all her progress on video up to her debut and as she continues her racing career. It would be the experience of Ownership but without a big capital outlay. Members would receive a lovely welcome pack, letter, brochure, breeding certificate & A4 photo, have access to a dedicated Facebook page for the Club horse, organised visits during the year and a weekly email update. Names would go into a live fb draw for racecourse badges. There would be no training fees, on the other hand no prizemoney. A small yearly fee of £49.00 to cover welcome packs, Registering the club, colours, admin set up, postal costs, Ownership days at our yard (a great chance to meet fellow Owners) .

Please email to request the full details – details of the proposed first Club horse and how the Club will be run – This document is currently being created and will be sent out Saturday. The first 100 confirming back by email that they would like to join ( with your name and ‘yes’ as the email subject) and by sending your full name, address, postcode & tel. number – will be sent welcome packs first class on Monday morning. You can specify who the Certificate is made out to if it’s to be a gift 😊 the remainder wishing to join (if we have more!) will be emailed a full colour voucher to print out and give for Christmas if required, and a welcome pack sent in January. We are not restricting numbers.

The response just since advertising on Facebook yesterday has been great, we are delighted so many of you would like to join us 🐎 no payment will be taken until January when the Club Bank account will be up and running . The yearly fee will be £49.00 (no tie in) and it will be payable by 15th January by bank transfer. Thankyou 😊

Top Ville Ben is resting well and is glad to be staying warm and dry for these past few days of miserable weather we have been having!
Little Bruce wasnt so lucky – looking a little wet after exercise with Will who reports that our gutsy stable star is feeling ‘fantastic’!
Exciting 2yr old for next year – Rosie’s Thunder – bred by owners Ace Bloodstock, out of Skid by Night Of Thunder.
A great action shot by John Grossick of Whoshotthesheriff on route to winning his novice at Carlisle.
