A winning weekend & videos

Madeeh wins at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening

3 winners in 3 days means that we are hitting our usual early November good form and with luck it will continue as It has the last couple of years – the horses are well and we’ve some exciting young prospects to appear this month. Yesterday saw a real high for the yard with ‘Wye Aye’ winning the handicap Chase at Huntingdon for Colm McCormack on only his second chasing start.

Wye Aye belies his lack of chasing experience to win at Huntingdon

We couldn’t have been more pleased with this result as Wye Aye was a headcase when first bought by The Well Oiled P’ship for small money at Goffs UK and Colm has ridden him everyday, putting in the work to turn him into the horse he is now – settling him by riding him on his own and enduring the tricky days when he didn’t behave as he was meant to. It’s been a gradual process of teaching him to settle and if you go back and watch his first career races on Racing Post, you will see how far he has come.  Here is his winning video from yesterday….

On Saturday it was Wolverhampton and not Wetherby, the scene of our winner – Madeeh given a beautiful waiting ride by champion elect, Oisin Murphy, to quicken impressively in the final furlong and make Victor’s late drive home a lot more pleasant!

Madeeh was absolutely gleaming under the lights as you will see on his winning video.

The same Ownership has ‘Alsvinder’ running today and it would be great to get a double for them – he is more than capable off his current mark.

We hadn’t posted Burrows Seeside winning video on Friday so here is a chance to see his impressive turn of foot at Newcastle under Harrison Shaw.

All our runners from the weekend  are back safely despite two returning in the horse ambulance for a difficult day at Weatherby.  Robincolette is undergoing vet treatment here and Niven unfortunately pulled muscles badly when along an awkward jump. He’ll be getting physiotherapy this week to help his soreness.

Finally our ‘Lady Buttons’ tribute part 3, and possibly the most exciting of our three videos …we’d have loved to have been at Wetherby with her on Saturday but at least she is safely in her box here and we can hopefully look forward to her foals for Keith & Jayne in the future.

Good luck to Alsvinder today… let’s see if we can keep the ball rolling 🍀🤞🏻🐎
