Saturday 13th September

A stunning photo taken by Megan this week

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning and as is usual on weekends, we look forward to welcoming Owners to the yard to watch their horses on the gallops. We have our schooling field almost ready for action, it’s looking so impressive this year & not only do we have the chase fences and hurdles In place but we are also building a couple of baby schooling lanes for all these nice young horses we have in the yard. Simon & Henry have been cutting the grass and busy positioning the jumps up the gradual incline of our huge grass field –  we’ll be bringing you photos shortly once it’s complete.

The ten to follow video guide is taking some making! We want everyone to be fully informed though and we’re really excited about this new competition we are going to run. Hope to have the video made ( in several parts) and full entry details by next Sunday night….

No runners today but Ace Bloodstock bred, ‘Fircombe Hall’ is drawn 1 at Wolverhampton tomorrow in the 3.35 and if he breaks nice & sharply we’d like to think off 3lb lower he can build on his close 6th here last time, he is bouncing at home.

Fircombe Hall

Tuesday sees a mouth watering ‘horses in training catalogue’ at Goffs UK Doncaster and Phil will be there if any Owners are looking to attend. With dispersal sales from both Gigginstown & Trevor Hemmings, there are plenty of top Saturday horses on offer….we’d love to get a new 20 Owner Partnership together with one of these 140 + horses, watch this space….

We welcomed a talented young mare to the yard this week for Value Racing. She is novice hurdle winner, Dame du Rubon – an exciting mares staying prospect. Here she is on her first morning with Ross on board…

Some photos from the yard and some footage I took earlier in the week that will make you all smile ! Phil has a little more help than he bargained for when trotting a horse up for a video.
