Thursday’s news – and winner!

An impressive win from Madeeh at Catterick for Kevin Stott & The Harbour Rose P’ship

We had a welcome winner at our ‘home track’ yesterday when despite the easing conditions, Madeeh broke his maiden tag in good style, and is likely to be seen fairly swiftly under a 6lb penalty, he’s come out of the race well. This made amends for Beverley where he finished well but couldn’t quite get there from off the pace in a steadily run race. He’s a well bred horse who is still an entire and we’d be hopeful he can go in again next time, it’s just up to Phil now to pick the right opportunity. We had mixed results from our other runners but all home safely and most would have preferred better ground.   This was a welcome winner for our team, those who went racing celebrated with pizza back at the yard afterwards.

Just the one runner today, Raiff at Uttoxeter in the bumper. Phil & Tommy set off late morning and whatever this big horse does today he’ll be a better horse in another seasons time. He’s a great big rangy 4 year old by Shamardal and this looks a hot bumper but it’s a nice track to make a start, he’s got an engine and we’re sure he will learn a lot. Best of luck to his Owner, David Platt.
