Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

News post

Today’s news is dedicated to the memory of beautiful and talented ‘December Second’ who tragically lost his life at Newcastle.

It has been a horribly sad and upsetting day for all of us here and his Owner David who was rightly so proud of his top class horse. December was kind & genuine with a big character and he was admired by so many. Thankyou everyone for your messages on fb , text and email, we appreciate every single one.

There is always an element of risk involved with horses doing any sport, but it never gets much easier to  get over when this happens.
Horse welfare always comes first here at Green Oaks  and we must remember that racehorses have a wonderful life compared to many Equines in other countries and while he was here and before at Godolphin, he had a happy and contented life.

And to remember those breathtaking victories… what class he had – his talent shown first time out at Ayr in the  bumper when he streaked clear , his second bumper win in effortless style and later his impressive Haydock flat victory signalling the potential for so many more. We’ll miss his talent but we’ll miss the horse himself the most.
