Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Tuesday’s News

We’re battling the weather and keeping going!

Gales  & floods have been causing havoc with racing round the country but the horses still have to go out and our team are rising ( and riding) to the challenge. Its probably the windiest day here today and to top it off it’s been snowing on an off all morning  too…

Phil & Katie have set off to Newcastle with GORDALAN – he’s been juvenile hurdling recently but he reverts to the flat for this 2 mile handicap and goes there with an  each way chance for experienced jockey Luke Morris in the 4.50.

Top Ville Ben

We’ve been eagerly awaiting the National Weights as we were unable to attend the official lunch … Top Ville Ben has been allotted 11 stone 2lbs for the big one. A few pounds more than we’d like but still a racing weight and his Owners & Phil will make a decision closer to the day if he heads to The Betfair Bowl or The National itself.

We said goodbye to young team member Hannah Welford on Sunday and wish her the very best of luck in her new job at Richard Fahy’s – closer to home for Hannah. We’ve added several new experienced members to our team and details will be brought shortly.

Our FOR SALE & partnerships pages have been updated today. There will be a further news piece this evening and a post regarding our latest partnership launching on March 1st.
