Siena Mia in winning action last week but couldn’t quite do the double – a good 2nd at Chelmsford last night.

For Sale page just updating shortly

2nd wasn’t quite what we hoped for but It was still worth the trip to Chelmsford last night as Siena Mia ran a decent race and she remains an improving filly for her Owner Breeders, Heather & Franco Calzini.

We’ve a big day with ‘Whoshotthesherrif’ contesting the ultra valuable 2 mile Betfair Hurdle at Newbury this afternoon for his Owners, Hambleton Racing. He’s a likely chaser for next season but for now they are enjoying running him in some of these valuable handicaps and next stop is likely to be the Cheltenham Festival. Sherrif enjoyed a trip out earlier this week and seems in fine form at home.

We had a number of runners on Thursday and the most pleasing result was Alsvinder who despite being high in the weights off 90 ran a good race from the front for a blanket finish 3rd in the sprint for Nick Barret- Atkin. A couple of our Doncaster novices will be more suited to handicaps in the future and they ran satisfactory races in decent company. Shine Baby Shine confirmed again that she prefers better ground, preferably flat racing and York rather than Doncaster! She has been a model of consistency on the AW recently and having jumped well here, will still get another chance over hurdles on proper summer ground.

Top Ville Ben was showing his well being this week…
