A busy Friday

Wemyss Point on the right who makes his second start of the campaign this afternoon at Wolverhampton

We’ve a busy Friday with 5 runners at 3 different meetings….. Wemyss & Iconic Belle start proceedings are 2.05 in the 1m 6f at Wolverhampton….we’re hanging fire running both these hoses over hurdles until we get some genuine good ground so this is keeping them both ticking over nicely. Iconic Belle ran a good race here last time for 2nd but frustratingly she went up 4lb for not winning which we felt was pretty harsh. Nick renews the Partnership with her and Phill Dennis rides Wemyss Point.

Iconic Belle & Shine Baby Shine who both run at different meetings today

Up north at Musselburgh we have the homebred Abington Park making his second bumper start. Known as COCO, the jet black 4 year old has grown up with our recent bumper runners, Show Promise, Fabrication & Pennine Cross. He was green on his debut last season and has grown up a lot for his summer break. Tommy rides our only NH runner of the day.

Abington Park & Will at home

It’s fibresand for our final 2 runners and Shine Baby Shine really deserves a win after running some excellent races recently. She is clear 2nd favourite and Nick is driving from Wolverhampton to Southwell to ride her in the 5.45. If Iconic Belle is not his first winner then hopefully Shine will be – he is currently sitting on TEN second places. There is a short priced favourite in the race, Sea of Mystery.

Shine Baby Shine

Rounding off proceedings we have Queen of Rock in the sprint handicap at 6.45 – Jimmy Quinn rides and this Ruler of the World filly known as ‘Piglet’ at home, ran a much better race last time when 4th on her nursery handicap debut. She needs to progress further but she is genuine and with the yard in form we hope she can show more today for her Owners and justify keeping in training for this season.
