Friday’s News

It’s a notable day ahead at Catterick in the bumper! 3 of our boys who have grown up as youngsters together all run in the same race – 2 of them, Fabrication ( Twix) & Pennine Cross ( Gary) making their debut. Master Newton completes the trio… he was 3rd last time out. The photos and videos also feature some of our other young bumper horses for this year – Abington Park ( Coco) Robin Des Chapp & Two Thirtyeat.

Looking at the race it looks extremely hot, and definitely one of the most competitive we have seen here for some time. Our three are all long term prospects who will come on for time and experience, and the one who should benefit most from race experience is of course Master Newton. We also run FASTERKHANI in a very warm Juvenile, and we would like to think there will be improvement from his first start.  Good luck to all connections today and safe return for our horses.

Its a very damp day at the yard again…. will it ever dry and frost up! We had some promising efforts at Newcastle last night, Mr Carbonator & Madeeh having their first runs for some time and a nice 2nd start by Gowanlad, missing the break but finishing strongly. It was very tacky tiring ground at Hexham and we saw a decent run by The Flickeringlight for 3rd in the Novice – she now qualifies for a handicap mark. Old favourite Aniknam looked rusty and will need to still show us he still has that spark there over the coming months – legs look good today though. He’s had more time off than on, but we’ve had a clear run with him so far this winter.

The Flickeringlight, excellent photo by Steven Jones – Thankyou

We’ve had huge interest in our recent new Partnerships – Spanish Buttons sold out yesterday morning and we have just the 2 shares left now in WINFOLA who has charmed us all with her beautiful head & lovely nature. I took this short video of her yesterday having her first canter ridden by Issey Gill.
