Two ends of the country today! Phil has set off on his 5.5 hour journey to Goodwood with December Second who runs in the 1m 6f maiden and Victor is taking ‘The Resdev Way’ to Ayr for the 1m 7f staying handicap – both races are this evening. Meanwhile the Kirby kids are competing The Royal Highland Show and we are on our way there for a midday jumping class which is a qualifier for the Horse of the Year Show so everything is crossed for 3 winners today 🍀
December Second was of course bred to be a high class flat horse, he was bought by Phil from Goffs UK as an unraced Godphin horse and he is by a sire we like a lot, Teofilio. This will be his first start on the level and Phil thinks he will have to run to a mark of 95 to win which will be no easy task but he goes there fit and well. Best of luck to his Owner David Platt with his lovely young horse.
The Resdev Way heads to Ayr off the back of a good win at Yarmouth under today’s jockey Paula Muir who gets on so well with them. Resdev won 4 for us last year and he’s a bit of a legend for Team PKR & his Owners Resdev Ltd. He went up 3lbs for his latest win which seems fair and if he is in the same form he could double up.
The Timeform & Attheraces view:
We would really like a winner today following the second yesterday courtesy of Mr Carbonator at Ripon – he ran yet another fine race and is a model of consistency this season.
We have runners this weekend at Perth & Hexham, and we’ll be previewing their chances once the decs are made – there will be a news update this evening following Goodwood & Ayr.
