Ice Pyramid makes his stable debut

Happy New Year everybody, sadly our first post of 2019 is a bit muted as we bring the news that our stable jockey Adam Nicol broke his femur yesterday when riding Iconic Belle at Musselburgh. The mare was looking a likely winner when coming down and unfortunately Adam got galloped over by a horse behind him. Belle is bruised but ok but Adam has his operation this morning and we wish him the best of luck. He joins our Conditional, Tommy Dowson on the sidelines who is off with a badly broken collarbone.

Yesterday did see a fantastic run by Nautical Nitwit at  Cheltenham – blazing a trail under Danny Cook under a record high rating of 149 and carrying top weight. Now ten years old, Nitwit is an absolute superstar for us and has a number of Cheltenham Festival options, he handled the course well and kept battling on to hold 5th place under his welter burden. No winners at Catterick but Pullman Brown showed improvement and Nemean Lion was also brave, giving best under top weight but the effects of running 4 days ago had clearly taken their toll.

It’s on to the All Weather at Newcastle today and we have Ice Pyramid, Fingal’s Cave and Man of Verve all with decent chances. Good luck to their connections – Phil believes Ice Pyramid is going to make an exciting novice hurdler for us so one to watch with the future in mind.

The Racing Post have this article below  today – All great except we wish they would use a nicer photo of Phil! 🙈 Especially when Nick has a smiley one!!

Here’s one in case they read our post – they can copy it!
