Iconic Belle one of today’s runners at Hexham

We have two at Hexham today and Phil is just leaving with the filly & recent Sedgefield winner, Nemean Lion. Neither are certain to like the ground  and with the filly it’s very much a learning curve as all her best form has been on a sound surface. We’ll see how she handles this tough test today in the 1.20 and if she copes it will open up new avenues for her. Nemean Lion isn’t particularly well handicapped after his recent good efforts so it’s a surprise to see him vying for favouritism in this competitive 12 runner field  – but he is a horse in good form and tries hard, and he’ll be doing his best to add to his winning tally for Owners The Well Oiled P’ship.

Plans for Christmas are firming up and Phil is deciding where all our festive runners are heading. With Wetherby and Sedgefield both having meetings on Boxing Day it will make for some juggling of entries to look for the best possible opportunities for all the horses. We will hope for a lack of frost and snow and hope everything can be on as planned.  Lady Buttons and Top Ville Ben head our cast for the 27th at Wetherby and Nautical Nitwit heads to Cheltenham for the New Year Meeting, a Pertemps qualifier.
