Thursday’s News

Wintry morning

There’s an unwelcome change in the weather, suddenly we’ve left behind those beautiful Autumnal mornings and it’s cold, wet and wintry 😱 of course we needed it for a lot of our runners but it makes the early mornings more of a challenge!

It’s back to the flat with three today at Newcastle on the AW – STARGAZER (1.20) returns to the scene of his 2 good  Spring runs when he was 1st and 2nd (demoted to 2nd after an inquiry) so we are hopeful he can bounce back to form on a surface he enjoys. It’s a 0-105 so clearly he’s going to have to be back to his best to figure, but with the yard in form he should give a good account of himself in this £16,000 to the winner race.

Our other 2 are fillies – 3 year old Midas Maggie (2.25) makes her stable debut for new Owners, The Jessies – she hadn’t shown an awful lot in her short career for Charlie Hills but was picked up at the recent Goffs UK sales by them as a potential improver over a longer trip. She’s by the staying influence, Archipenko and from a fair family so today is very much a fact finding mission.

Archie’s Sister is also by Archipenko and her future will also lie over a trip in time. She makes her second career start in the 4.05 over 7f and hopefully she will build on her satisfactory Redcar debut. Andrew Mullen rides all 3 of our Newcastle runners and good luck to their connections 🐎🍀
