Last Seasons Top UK Chase Mare – Lady Buttons back in work for hopefully another exciting Winter.

Its our busiest time of year – the flat horses are in full swing and the Jumpers are  steadily coming back into work or on the walker for a 1st of August start for almost all of them, if not before. I saw Lady Buttons and Kilcullen Flem at exercise today, and also Shine Baby Shine who is looking great for her break.

Nautical Nitwit is one of our highest rated jumpers and he’s been primed for the Cartmel ‘Crystal Cup’ on Saturday – a race we have won in the past with Goldan Jess and Nitwit has also been placed in it. He handles top of the ground but they are sure to have done plenty of watering round this sharp left handed track, it’s the ‘Chester’ of jump tracks. Campion is also entered on the flat, Saturday, she  is looking well following her run earlier in the week.

We had Phil Dennis in to ride out yesterday, he is pictured below on Nicely Indeed who will be ready to run as soon as the ground eases a bit. Phil started off his career as aJockey with us when we trained at Sharp Hill Farm, he is a young flat jockey doing well and we like to use him when available.

Bertie Blake is pictured below, he is a tremendous looking individual but has been frustrating in his races for his Kirby Club Partnership.  We are persevering with this lovely young horse who was bought to make a chaser and we hope the key can be found for him to be competitive off his mark. He  won’t run again until we see some ease in the ground also and he’ll be stepped up in trip.
