Can Wemyss Point gain his first flat win at Pontefract today?

We are looking back at our weekend runners and looking ahead to 4 today at 3 different tracks! Wemyss Point for the Green Oaks Partnership tries a marathon trip for the first time as he makes his flat handicap debut at Pontefract. We would have preferred ground without soft in the description for this fast actioned horse but one thing he does is stay and Paddy, fresh from a winner in Jersey will be keen to get his first on the board in the UK this Spring since a winter of riding winners in the sunshine. 9 of his Owners are in attendance today and looking forward to his second outing back from a Winter break.

Hangard is our only runner of the day at Hexham, he is in novice hurdle company and in the first few in the betting given his solid run at this track in March. We’re not sure what happened last time at Uttoxeter but Tommy will be kicking on and trying to get a 1 next to his name to add to his Ayr bumper win before Christmas. Whatever happens he is a future chaser in the making and this will be the quickest ground conditions he has tried so far. He’ll be put away shortly for a summer at grass, good luck to Our Co Owners Daniel & Sarah Blake 🍀

Sedgefield tonight is an evening meeting. Tekkibleu de L’orme gets another chance in a handicap hurdle and needs to step up markedly. Last time out winner ‘Rock of Leon’ is back in a handicap from selling company and will likely have to give best for the lead from the D McCain trail blazing grey, Danceintothelight. Nathan got a great tune out of him last time for a wide margin Wetherby win and we’re hoping he can build on that with another good run today at a track he has been second at.

Saturday saw 2 Best Turned outs at Thirsk and yet another good performance from middle distance handicapper, Archippos who was a close up 3rd in a competitive big field. I’m yer Man made a perfectly satisfactory stable debut in a race he wasn’t particularly ‘well in’ and New Britain now qualifies for handicaps after his 3rd start. Unfortunately our Ayr runner ‘Top Ville Ben’ came down again when in front and gave Adam a nasty fall, he has broken his hand and faces some weeks on the sidelines, we wish him a speedy recovery and this comes at a frustrating time for Adam with some very nice horses ready to run 😬. Ben is luckily unscathed and will now have a summer out before starting his novice chase career, Phil thinks he is diving at his hurdles and needs a fence to learn to respect.
